ALLAYNE L. WEBSTER
South Australian Premier's Reading Challenge Ambassador

Allayne is an internationally published Children's and Young Adult author who grew up in rural South Australia. She now lives in Adelaide with her husband and teenage son. She's the proud recipient of three South Australian arts grants and she helped to establish the Women's Professional Development Network Book Club at the University of Adelaide. Allayne served for ten years as a board member of the Salisbury Writers' Festival and she's currently on the board of the Adelaide Festival of Children's Books.

Allayne plays guitar, writes music and sings (when people want her to!) Sometimes she illustrates. When not writing, she's reading. Or buying books. Or stalking bookshops. Or fangirling authors. Or plotting her next novel. Or absent-mindedly indulging in cheese and wine whilst dreaming up characters and scenarios. Basically, she's obsessed with storytelling in the worst way. She's only marginally more obsessed with her husband (*whom she thinks is kind of cute.) Allayne is not a fan of housework. She believes in cleaning fairies.
